Welcome! We believe you are art, the wood is art, the food is art - that life is art. We live art and are passionate about this fine planet we share.

The interior space is the creation of the cafe’s artist owner Tim Kellam and took 10 months to complete. Yes, we think it was a long time too! Almost everything you see, feel or touch in the cafe and meeting space has been reclaimed, up-cycled or foraged from demolished buildings, scattered remnants of old Cornish hotels, scaffolding planks, potato boxes, etc. basically anything that was discarded and no longer had a life as it was originally intended. These bits and pieces were rescued and lovingly reshaped, to emerge as something new whilst retaining their own unique story. Members of the InnerTide team have also taken part in our creative process. Being artists in their own right they added a lot of elbow grease in scrubbing, polishing, filling, grouting, hammering, sanding and painting. Multi-talented they now champion our friendly service behind the counter with our new recruits.

We believe ‘you are what you eat’ and for this reason we are committed to serving you wholesome, healthy fare. We try to use the most local, organic and fair-trade ingredients as possible, thus ensuring you get maximum vitamins and minerals, keeping our carbon footprint low and helping our Cornish economy. Our cakes for example are supplied by local artisan bakers, our coffee syrups and botanical elixirs are made in-house by Luscious Lucy Cornwall, (Tim’s wife & resident foodie) from hand-picked, home-grown or foraged ingredients. We wish to honour the planet so our take-away packaging is purposely eco-friendly, biodegradable and made from sustainable materials.

The meeting & gallery space upstairs is a great place to get the creative juices flowing. It may be reserved for luncheons, all day events, workshops, classes, exhibitions, etc. We have a calendar different events. If interested please ask a member of the InnerTide family.

Feel free to join us in the creative process!
